storms and fallen trees

Another storm blew in this evening. As I rushed around to close windows, I could see the black clouds rolling in from the west. Thunder growled and rumbled. The wind was terrific. Massive trees bent and swayed before the wind. Barely getting all the windows close, the first raindrops fell as I ran out to the deck to close one of the windows with the broken crank/handle thingey. Looking to the south, over the tall green corn, the rain was a white sheet blowing across the whole sky.

The message on my answering machine said there is a tree that has fallen across the lane.
