When I get to the tree, sure enough, there they are. Two big porcupines. They are probably the grandpa and grandma of all the porcupines that so thickly populate the woods around my house. I think to myself, good for you! I was thrilled about a year ago to discover this hideout of theirs. The huge pile of droppings at the bottom of the tree has accumulated over several years, according to my observation over the past year. Good for them!
