they are pretty, and they do love to flower just after you cut the grass, useful for visiting guinea-pig food too!

I wish our fruits and vegetables were so prolific and tenacious. Maybe we should forego lawns and let the dandelions, wild onions, creeping charlie, stilt grass, sedge, clover, plantain, purslane, carbgrass etc. take over. No more mowing, fertilizing, and applying herbicides. Would sure save a lot of work and annoy the neighbors.

I think gardeners often manage to annoy the neighbors anyway as gardeners I know tend to buck the norm. However, not permitting us to regulate and rearrange nature would be sucking the life out of gardening, wouldn't it? And yet, we also learn to yield to nature, when we garden. I often add tender dandelion leaves to salads, but isn't there such a thing as too much of a good thing? I keep arguing with Mother Nature.
